Meet the New York Sleep Out team!

Many staff are hard at work behind the scenes to help the Sleep Out: Mothers Edition come together, but chances are high that you’ll be in touch with at least one of these two people prior to arriving on at our event on May 1.

Rachelle AlbachRachelle Ybarbo-Albach
Rachelle gives everyone a run for their money in the “cool jobs” department: she oversees the Home Team program across New York and New Jersey, and manages special events in New York. In other words, she orders the sleeping bags, pom-poms, and sandwiches, and is almost always up to her elbows in event signage. What Rachelle loves most about the Sleep Out is that “anyone can do this. Not everyone can commit the time to train for a marathon, and not everyone is interested in fancy invitations to a three course meal requiring uncomfortable shoes. But this one night is so impactful for participants, staff, and kids.” When Rachelle isn’t lost in the details of Covenant House events, you might find her lost in the details of a Pinterest-worthy craft project.

Karin RockwinKarin Rockwin
Karin (a.k.a. The Human Help Desk) keeps all of the tech running for Sleep Out, Home Team, and special events. In addition to ensuring that websites get launched on time and work as intended, she answers questions from staff, participants, and donors, and is always ready to lend a helping hand. When she isn’t sitting at a desk, Karin is always on the go. You may see her running or cycling around NYC, training for her next Home Team race.
