I'm sleeping out on November 17th. It will be dark, cold, and very uncomfortable. But...I'm sleeping out.
My three primary reasons for doing this are 1) my heart breaks every time I see someone, especially the young, struggling on the streets without food or shelter, 2) my faith compels me to know that God’s heart is breaking too, and therefore, calls me to do something about it… in love and compassion… boldly and intentionally, and 3) Covenant House has inspired me and taught me that it is possible to make a real and tangible difference in the lives of those who are looking for not just a shelter to live in but a home where life can be fully lived. I want to help in any way that I can. And I hope that by my very, very small sacrifice, that those who spend many sleepless nights out in the cold can somehow be blessed and offered hope.
This is the second year in a row that I'm sleeping out. Last year you helped me raise over $8,000 to support the amazing work of Covenant House and to share love with young people in need! Please join me again in this effort which will help young people realize that there is a positive future and that, with help, they, themselves, can create it.
