I'm Sleeping Out, Again.
Last year I took to the streets and slept out. This year I will be sleep out again. I use the word "sleep" loosely as we never fully understand what someone else goes through in life. One issue I have grown passionate about is fighting against Youth Homelessness and working with Covenant's House in raising awareness and funds to such a significant cause.
Again, I accept the challenge that on November 16, 2017 to Sleep Out with Covenant House. It will be cold, dark and uncomfortable. And as I will sleep on a gravel sidewalk with a cardboard box in whatever weather conditions Mother Nature brings, it does not compare to those who do it nightly. But for one night I can give up the comforts of home knowing that - by doing so - I can bring warmth and hope to young people who need it most.
Thousands of kids spend each night on the unforgiving streets of our great cities. Countless others are staying with relatives or friends, dreading the day when there is no one else to take them in. And one night can make a difference.
