I'm sleeping on the Streets of Philly on March 24th to raise funds for Covenant House PA, an organization dedicated to serving homeless and trafficked youth in the Philadelaphia area. Please consider donating to my page!
Growing up on the Jersey Shore, NYC was the only city on my horizon. Fellow beach-goers know I mean this literally. Yet, two years out of college, I've somehow found myself living in Philly. You heard me – Philly!
Adapting to a rival city isn't easy. To do so, you need to find common ground. I've found this in two places:
1. Sandwiches. Whether it's a pork roll egg and cheese from Butler's Deli or a cheesestake from Pat's, we both defend our local sammies with pride and that's something I can get behind.
2. (More importantly) Covenant House. The amazing organization that provides safe shelter and wrap-around social services to homeless and trafficked youth.
You might be familiar with Covenant House already. Over the past several years, so many of our friends in the RFH community and throughout the Jersey Shore have rallied around the organization and raised crucial funds towards helping homeless youth in the NYC area.
I’m carrying this tradition of support into Philadelphia, where I’ll be raising funds towards the operation of Covenant House Pennsylvania. As part of the fundraising effort, I’ll be sleeping on the streets of Philadelphia with a few of my Venture for America friends – Madeleine, Chris, and Aseem – and 150 other Covenant House supporters.
Please, if you can, consider contributing to my fundraising page. Let’s find common ground in the mission to end youth homelessness!
