We did it last year, and we are doing it again!
Last year, Lorraine shared her story. We learned that her story was healing to Lorraine to share with us, and homelessness was not a choice. It was a series of unfortunate events that got her to Covenant House. When Polly asked a youth, "why are you participating in the Sleep Out", he shared, "Whatever I can do for the cause."
Covenant House is their home. A place where they can not only get shelter and three meals (and a snack) but also medical aid, counselors, legal aid, unconditional love and absolute respect, and an aray of other services. WE can really make a difference for these kids. It will be dark. It will be tough. But as with so many partnerships, teamwork makes it easier to do hard work well – and we’re in this together.
As a team, we’re going to spend a night in solidarity with homeless kids. We’re going to hear their stories, and learn how they’re making new lives for themselves at Covenant House. And while hundreds of young people are safe in their beds at Covenant House, we will head outside with cardboard boxes to look for an unoccupied piece of pavement.
We’re sleeping outside for one night, so homeless kids don’t have to. And you can help. Join our team, or Click "Donate Now!" to make a donation in support of our Sleep Out!
