We are joining the Covenant House Student Sleep Out, together with thousands of other young people. For one night, we will sleep outside in solidarity with homeless youth, learning about the hardships and fear that they experience every day.
Saturday - November 18 6pm - Sunday November 19 7am
6-9pm Potluck dinner - Families from all locations are welcome including Samurai and Jr students. We will be making toiletry packages, decorations for upcoming holiday dinners at the shelters, baby care packages and holiday gifts. Bring a covered dish to share. 9pm-12am Teens age13+ (kids under 13 are welcome to participate if accompanied by a parent), parent volunteers, instructors and their families and friends will be hanging out at the school and will meet representatives and kids from Covenant House and the Edison Police Youth Community Liasion to get a better understanding of the importance of what we're doing. We will have activities indoors but please leave phones and electronics in the cubbies, we will be going low-tech. Bring instruments if you want. Bring warm layered clothing, sleeping bag, hats, gloves, and clean cardboard.
12am-6am Sleep Out
6-7am Donuts and juice, 7am Parent pick-up
